Where your holding sits, and what protects it.
Your equity is held by a regulated custodian, segregated from the issuer and from BlockMaze, with the register kept by the control agent on chain. Here is what that means in practice.
The arrangement
Four parties, each with a defined job.
The company you own a piece of. It does not hold your equity.
BlockMaze’s HCMC-regulated entity, holding the equity in segregated custody.
The same entity, keeping the register of who owns what, on chain.
The owner, on the register, with the rights the documents set out.
What happens if
The questions that matter.
Equity ranks last. You can lose what you invested. Your holding stays on the register until the company is wound up.
Your holding is on the register and with the custodian, not on BlockMaze’s balance sheet. The register and the custody arrangements survive the platform; the regulator supervises the transition.
Your holding is not on Dealing’s balance sheet either. You keep the equity; you lose the venue until another is arranged.
The register is the record. A claim the regulated entity did not record is not an ownership claim.
Protections and their limits
Say what applies and what doesn’t.
Client assets are segregated under the custodian’s licence. Which clients the investor compensation scheme covers, and which it does not, is set out in the investor compensation notice; family office accounts may fall outside it. None of this protects you from the business failing or the price falling. That is investment risk, and it is yours.
FAQ
What people ask about custody.
No. Your holding is a register entry held by the custodian. You use an account, not a wallet.
Where the documents and the rules allow, yes; ask through the help centre.
The regulator supervises it; attestations are published on the verification page as they are produced.
Cash in accounts provided by OneVault is safeguarded under the e-money rules; cash in the treasury token is a token with its own documents.
